Sea buckthorn 'Friesdorfer Orange'

Picking Season: Late August to early October

Pollination: A self-fertile cultivar

Uses: Nitrogen-fixer, attracts pollinators. Highly valued for its bright orange berries, rich in vitamins and antioxidants. Ideal for juices, jams, and culinary use, as well as medicinal and cosmetic applications. The berries are tangy and nutritious.

Soil Type: Thrives in well-drained, sandy, or loamy soil with a slightly alkaline to neutral pH. Highly tolerant of windy conditions, making it an excellent choice for hedging. 

Average Height and Width: A medium-sized shrub, growing to about 2-3m in height and spreading 1.5-2m wide. Produces suckers that require management to ensure that the shrub does not spread where it is not wanted. These are easily pulled up when small.
