English variety, valued for its reliability and ability to crop well in cooler climates.
Flowering time: Early-season flowering (Pollination Group 2).
Picking season: Late July to early August.
Storage ability: Best used fresh or shortly after picking.
Uses: Dark purple plums, excellent for cooking, also suitable for fresh eating when fully ripe.
Soil type: Thrives in most well-drained soils and performs well in cooler, exposed sites.
Pollination: Partially self-fertile; will crop on its own, with improved yields if other plums are nearby.
