Belgian variety, long valued for its vigour and heavy cropping.
Flowering time: Mid-season flowering (Pollination Group 3).
Picking season: Late August.
Storage ability: Stores for a short period; best used fresh or for cooking.
Uses: Large red plums, excellent for cooking and bottling, also suitable for fresh eating when fully ripe.
Soil type: Thrives in most well-drained soils and is tolerant of cooler conditions.
Pollination: Self-fertile; reliable cropper on its own, with improved yields if other plums are nearby.
