Canadian dessert cherry, one of the first widely grown self-fertile varieties.
Flowering time: Mid-season flowering (Pollination Group 4).
Picking season: Mid to late July.
Storage ability: Best eaten fresh; short storage life once picked.
Uses: Large, dark red cherries with a sweet, rich flavour, ideal for fresh eating.
Soil type: Prefers well-drained, fertile soil in a warm, sheltered position.
Pollination: Self-fertile; will crop reliably on its own, with improved yields if other cherries are nearby.
