Butterfly workshop
Butterfly workshop
Join us for a guided workshop focused on butterflies and the habitats that support them.
Taking place in mid July, when butterfly activity on the farm is typically at its peak, we will explore a range of habitats including grassland, hedgerows, orchard edges and river woodland, observing butterflies in the field and the plants they depend on.
The workshop will cover butterfly life cycles, host plants and nectar sources, along with a simple butterfly transect and a timed flower count, giving a practical insight into how butterflies are monitored.
The session is informal and led by a zoologist and RHS-qualified horticulturist.
The workshop begins at midday
Duration: approximately 2.5-3 hours
Tea and coffee provided.
Please note: butterfly activity is weather dependent. In cooler, wet or windy conditions we may see fewer butterflies, but the workshop will still go ahead with a focus on habitats, host plants and monitoring methods.
